Papanicolaou Stain EA-36 is an alcohol-based cytoplasmic counterstain formulated for use in the Pap staining procedure. This polychromatic solution contains Eosin Y, Light Green SF Yellowish, and Bismarck Brown to provide balanced cytoplasmic differentiation. EA-36 is designed to produce moderate, well-controlled staining intensity, making it suitable for routine gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens. When used after hematoxylin nuclear staining and bluing, it functions as a counterstain to clearly distinguish cellular components. Non-keratinized squamous cells stain blue-green, while keratinized or mature cells appear pink to orange, enhancing contrast for microscopic evaluation. Ideal for clinical, hospital, and reference laboratory cytology applications.
